Skoda Fabia Electrics Issue

Post by tome1990 »

Skoda Fabia (2007 old version) driver's side door sensor stopped working after I had some repairs done at local Kwikfit. The car no longer recognises when the driver door opens - interior light doesn't go on, warning sound when you leave headlights on etc. The other door sensors are still working fine.

Kwik fit are claiming it is unrelated but it is too much of a coincidence for me to think it is.

They replaced CV boots - I read something about battery earth's being in that area? Does anyone know anything about this?

Help much appreciated.

Have you checked the door switch? it may have come disconnected.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

1st step - DONT GO TO F'IN Quick Fit for anything not even tyres

I doubt they bothered to touch the battery imho, the door doesn't have a sensor its just a switch it more than likely been wedged or broken, it should be a simple fix, if you can't fix it, find a decent local impendent garage to fix it for you

does the interior light come on if you open the passenger side door only ? or if you flick the switch on the light its self ? it may of popped a fuse
