Hi
I have a master socket in the garage where I know the Internet works and landline phone works. However I have an extension in another room in the house where the landline works and the router doesn't. Any ideas.
Regards Ray

No just the connections (All of them, in every bt socket / junction box)

Checked all sockets and only cables 2 and 5 connected. Landline works in all of them but remember engineer fitting master socket in garage asking if I was going to put router in house and I said no. So could he have done anything on the master socket to stop this working for the extensions.

what master do you have and when was it fitted ? do you have "fibre" or adsl ?
Ideally you want the router as close to the master as possible

If you have slave sockets you are supposed to connect 2, 5 & 3
Are all the connections tight?
3 is the one that makes the phone ring, can't see it making that much difference to BB
One thing that does puzzle me is why must you have the router near to the incoming line, since the line itself can be several miles long (before it gets to you)
