Temp cheap? Mobile Internet in Bavaria.

Post by Chemfree »

Friend of mine from Sth Africa is in Bavaria in the countryside for 3 month stay, using wifi connection for Internet in lounge area of their digs, but it`s inconvenient. They want a connection for their mobile that doesn`t cost a fortune.
I looked up an excellent review but unfortunately it`s from 2014.
My friend speaks even less German than myself,so I said I`d ask around in case anyone has recent experience, but I suppose Brits just go for a roaming deal, job done.
Any ideas where to get info on deals that don`t involve 12 month contract 16/30Euros per month involving full term?
They say they have to travel some distance to register for Internet connection and give an address too.....any way around this. They want to get away from the communal setup. They are there legally,by the way :)
Thanks.

I could ask my German relatives but I do not think that the Germans generally shop about for cheap tariffs like we do. They seem to always take the Mercedes and BMW approach and anything cheap is considered inferior. They do not seem, as a nation, as up to speed with things as you might think. Unless that is just my relatives

Thanks Bob.Seems like prices are similar to here, maybe a bit cheaper.....and they use the same spiel about still rolling out faster speed,I`ve had that BS from BT and the dreaded TalkTalk for years, stuck in the back of beyond that I am.
Thanks DWD,any info you can find out will be much appreciated. They`re no more advanced than us here in Blighty then?

I have heard back already and she says that Aldi do a good deal from E7.99 with no contract. A combination package of talk, high speed internet and SMS . She says that it is what a lot of the kids use.
I guess the internet time is the thing that will jack it up
I hope this helps
