Hi there any tips on laying turf, laid some last year but it hasn't grown that well! going to lay some more and I think I have the earth prepared correctly this time as we sieved it to get rid of the stones and weeds, just need to spread it out and level it, it will bi in a paved area so the finished earth will be blow it's level, not sure what depth though.
Thanks in advance

Re: Turf
Long time since I did any but this list covers it I would keep some topsoil back and roll back then fill any dips as you lay each roll and water the surface of the topsoil once prepared if it is dry to encourage the roots to take.

Re: Turf
I think the long hot rainless summer took its toll. This time put a few bales of peat down and soak well before laying. This will provide a soft substrate that will hold moisture and encourage root growth. New gardens do need watering if there is no rain. You have a few weeks before the grass starts going to sleep for winter.
