I want to connect my condensing tumble dryer to the waste system rather than have to empty the reservoir.

I've bought the drain kit and it contains the 7mm i.d. ( approx ) pipe and a spigot/nozzle adaptor that replaces the larger washing machine spigot/nozzle at the waste pipe.

Unfortunately, the low level sink trap I have only has one nozzle which is used by the washing machine. I don't want to change the trap as that would mean either losing the cupboard shelf or having a remote trap behind the cupboard with the problems of trap accessability.

I could use a clamp on nozzle on the pipework after the trap ( it incorporates a non-return valve )

I could also use a upstand pipe behind the cupboard, but that again has problems with accessing the trap if I need to.

You can get 'Y' adaptors to connect a washing machine and dishwasher to one nozzle but I've not found anything like a 'Y' adaptor for a washing machine and tumble dryer except for this

but that isn't compatible with the trap.

The clamping nozzle seems to be the only viable way forward at the moment but does anyone have any other ideas?

do you have a pic of the trap/waste ?

I would suggest that having its own pipe to waste although more hassle would be less grief in the long run.
As its a condensing TD the flow will not be powerful or fast, so if it "joins" with anything else there is the high probability that it will get sealed by other crud. Yes it wont happen instantly but it will happen.
As for spiggots, they should be banned. They often catch lint and dry out and clog, I have seen WM fill up when sink emptied and other similar problems, doesn't happen with a dedicated standpipe.

Then again, not my kitchen.

I have tinkered with similar, but anyway it is for a washing machine and dishwasher.

Sorry for the delay responding. Things got a bit busy.

The problem with the stand pipe ( also applies to the Viking hat thing ) is that the pipes have to go past a small unit, through a corner unit and behind the dishwasher before a stand pipe can be used. I can get an extension pipe for the washing machine and I suppose I could get a second hose for the tumble dryer and connect them together with a suitable rigid tube but it all gets a bit messy.

Point taken about blockages etc.

The spigot the washing machine is attached to does have a non-return valve in it ( a simple rubber flap ) so I'm not really concerned with return flow to the WM. I'd only do something similar with the TD if it could also have a non-return valve.

I did look at one of those clamp nozzles I linked to earlier. Whilst it does have a non-return valve ( good ) the 7mm nozzle supplied with the Tumble Dryer drain kit doesn't fit it. Sigh.

I suppose I shall have to continue manually emptying the TD reservoir for now although it did occur to me to make a suitable spigot for that clamping kit on my lathe. Could be fun!

What type of pipe comes with the kit ? rubber or hard plastic ?
