if you go for the normal 50-60% off list price you normally get with dewalt that puts it in the more acceptable £150-185 range[£375]

It looks to be the same price as the Makita but you get an extra base with the Makita.Job and Knock wrote:You can say that again! Glad I'm on Makita (18 months earlier and £150 cheaper)big-all wrote:its about £100-£125 more than i think its worth.....
If you go for a basic on the makita though you can use Katsu accessories and save a good bit of money and have a corded version too.

not sure why they call it a trimmer with" an extra base " that means a base plus another or duel base like the matching mains one i have that has both bases a kit bag a router box and costs i think it was £225 from axminster about 7 years agoRorschach wrote:It looks to be the same price as the Makita but you get an extra base with the Makita.Job and Knock wrote:You can say that again! Re: 18v dewalt router on pre order £279
Against that I paid just under £200 for an RT0700 with fixed base, side fence, follow bearing set, plunge base with side fence and tilting base, all in a soft carrying case. One thing about the Makita is that it is possible to take the motor out of the base and put in a 1/8in (3.2mm) collet then use it like a Dremel. Handy at times
