GALXION COMPUTER

Post by pistonbroke1957 »

Morning all
Has anyone heard of the above ?
Have seen these advertised by a local computer repair/IT solutions company. Fairly good specs and considerably less than the equivalent HP, ACER, DELL etc
Or is it a case of , if it sounds too good to be true ...............................................

Never heard of them, but then I will not have heard of many/most small assemblers. What matters is the quality of components inside, and if there is a clash of drivers down the road it will be down to you to sort out.

Its more than likely their own brand, as above it all depends on the quality of the components

I could build a dirt cheap system using no name Chinese junk, but I wouldn't be willing to put my name on it, a year to 18 months if not sooner it will start to fail

Scan do some reasonably well spec'd systems for the money

edit. Found it bl-it in Gillingham, I5, 2tb hdd and windows 10 be aware that is based on ddr3 memory, in a low cost case and there's no knowing what psu is in it I assume its the one what comes with the case (case and psu is sub £20 Retail)

I know of machines I built still running, getting on for 20 years old in daily use

I no longer build as I will not build machines with cheap parts, as such the margins are thin - you get, what you pay for (to a point)

I wouldn't even bother with a system that doesn't have a SSD/M.2 boot drive with a absolute minimum of 8gb ram
