best way to connect router and master socket

Hi. I have fibre broadband as far as the green cabinet in the street and then a BT line to the master socket in this upstairs study.
There is no phone and this PC and other devices are connected to the Plusnet hub/router with Ethernet cable.
The router is about three feet away from the BT master socket and the connection between them is DSL cable
I want to upgrade the master socket and cable.
Also, I want to move the router about 12 feet away from the socket.
The new socket will be a BT master socket NTE5C + VDSL MK4.
The new cable will be high speed VDSL fibre broadband modem router solid copper cat5e.
How should I connect the router and the master socket using the new cable?
Should I connect them directly?
Should I use the cable to connect the new master socket, left where it is, to an extension socket near the newly moved router?
Whether I run the cable from the master socket to the router directly or via an extension socket, I need to decide how to connect the cable to the master socket.
I seem to have two options. The first is to plug the cable into the master socket.
The second is to cut the plug off the cable and hard wire it to the A and B terminals at the back of the master socket
So many choices, so little time!.
I'd appreciate any advice, my main concern being not to lose any broadband speed.
Thanks, cheers, Laurence
