Side light faulty?

Hi everyone. I'm having problems with one of my sidelights. Funny thing is both sidelights work when day lights are active and when side lights are switched on....but when I switch on the headlights, only the drivers sidelight works. Any ideas?

Bad connection.
Have a look at the connector for the lights and see if there is any corrosion.

The car is 4 years old, so there is minimal corrosion.

It sounds like the night parking light is switching in. I would check the fuse for the sidelights as a possibility. The chart is usually in the handbook.

The lighting on modern cars is controlled by the bcm - disconnect the battery for 15-20 mins and let the bcm reset

The car is a 2015 Suzuki celerio.

Plugs and connectors can get corrosion inside after quite a short time if water gets in there. Especially if it's contaminated with salt.

I doubt it is a bad connection as the side lights work in other modes it could be a bad earth I suppose but usually it would effect of items- as I said above the bcm controls the lighting add that to a intelligent fuse box it can get complicated
to the OP - do you also loose the rear tail light when the front sight light goes out on the same side ?

The fact that side lights do work in "other modes" is the reason I suspect a bad connection.
Most cars have a common terminal on the lights (usually -ve) when a switch is operated the +ve is switched on and so the lamp illuminates. (Not rocket science is it) now if the main common terminal is corroded the light which should be on will back feed through any lamp it can to get a -ve
BUT when more than 1 lamp is on the "faulty lamp" can no longer get a -ve so it does not illuminate which gives the impression it has a problem, when the fact is the lamp is fine, its the common connection that is at fault.
Yes the car itself should not corrode in 4 years, but this is an electrical connection. It should not take more than a few swear words to take the light cluster out and have a look.
