The old Makita stick batteries can still be found here, too - albeit from pattern battery sellers. BTW, that Makita may well quite a bit older than 20 years (possibly another 5 to 10 years old) because by 1999 Makita 9.6 volt drills had gone over to a more conventional battery shape

You could still get that shape later on I've got a Makita 6095DWE I bought in 2004.
