Paving slab slightly uneven on one edge

Post by TheWingco »

On moving house I inherited a concreted slab area formerly occupied by a garden shed, upon which I've now constructed a pergola. The plan is to lay artificial grass on the surface to give a softer feeling underfoot. However, one particular slab (right in the centre, wouldn't you guess) is a tiny bit down (about 5mm) on one edge relative to its neighbour, resulting in slight puddling after rainfall - although not enough I imagine to be visible through the 'grass' membrane. Would this be too shallow for self-levelling compound to hold (also bearing in mind that there's a barely-perceptible ever-so-slight gradient overall for drainage). All comments/alternative solutions appreciated.

Too easy: can't we find a more complicated solution?

Lower all the others to suit? That seems a bit more complicated.
I suppose levelling it with a cement slurry would do the job and be simple and less work than lifting the slab. Inciidently I covered a concrete patio wiith fake grass for a customer ( his idea ) , perhaps not as bad as it sounds.

A colleague of mine died lifting a paving slab. He went to help a friend of his, heart attack. I guess he stressed a bit more than he should have done.
