First coat plastering ,thrown

In greece first coat (scratch) is applied like that.

It is just thrown at the wall no leveling. I found out that this is uncommon to uk/us etc. What do you think?

They do a lot of strange things in Greece, most of the dwellings are built with sellotape and custard

The stuff they use in Spain goes off very quickly hence all the rustic plaster work - its called Yeso Rapido in the USA they use a similar product called stucco in essence it all goes back to mud and dung huts, in the uk that would be wattle and daub
