So after 10-20 minutes of driving the radio will power off and then for the next minute or two will refuse to stay on after I keep switching it on after each cut out. The length of time it stays on between cut outs can range from a second to 10 seconds, then after a minute or two its back to normal.
I have noticed that during its hissy fit, if I press the front two windows button up, this cause a power down off the radio instantly. Also the car doors used to lock automatically at around 10 miles, this now seems completely random and will lock and unlock whenever and sometimes in quick succession.
All this leads me to believe not just a faulty connection to the radio unit.
Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this and how to fix it.

Seat Leon radio randomly turning off
I had odd problems with my VW Golf, a similar car.
The stop start stopped working, the boot light and door light only worked when the ignition was on it was finally traced to a faulty battery. It seems they work like the Star Ship Enterprise if there is too little power all energy is diverted to Life Support!
Parking lights will go off conserving enough energy to start the car.
I had the battery and charging rate tested at Halfords they said it was fine, but the fault persisted.
The VW dealer spotted it, the alternator was charging but for some reason the battery was not accepting it. New battery and almost getting on for 200 quid later all is working fine!
