Damp and mould in utility room

Hi everyone I moved into my new home six months ago during the summer. I now have a problem with mould and damp in my utility room in the winter months. I have been advised to batten the internal wall with 25mm insulation and plasterboard the insulation. And skim plasterboard after

So I'm thinking shall I go with 2x1 batten, I'm to sure which insulation I should go for board or Thermal Foil Insulation. Could someone please advise me also my utility room is single brick I will post a picture at point.

It a waste of money IMO to create cavity. I had similar problem and considered this solution, but then drilled ventilation holes every 2.0m put covers, sanded down old paint from walls and ceiling, painted with bathroom anti mould paint, have a radiator and open window whenever possible.

I can see your point but I have no way of placing a radiator in this room.

If you have no way of heating it then insulation is essentially pointless.

What are my options I'm not sure where to go from here?

VENTILATION is the keyword. Wall vents and windows.
You can always install electric wall heater, cheap to buy and run and easy to install, low energy 1KW will do the job if room is less than 10 square meters, or 2KW for bigger room.
Use anti mould paint for walls and ceilings but sand down old paint before painting.

You can't do ventilation and heating though, that's a waste of money.

Anti mould paint is a good idea though, it really does work wonders for about 5 years or so.

I have a 200 watt tubular heater which I will use I will also install a air brick vent. Thanks

200watts won't do anything and the air vent will lose more than 200watts easily.

You need vents and heating. Vents to circulate air and heat to absorb humidity.

How do you dry a washing? A dryer which consists of heat and air flow. The same applies for hair dryer. A defroster is a fan heater...etc.

Ok thanks everyone I will install a vent and buy a oil filled heater.
