Fitting an LED downlighter in a shower?

Hi...

I was wondering about the downlighters that can be fitted in a shower cubicle?

We have 4 led downlighters in our bathroom but wanted to add one more in the shower cubicle. The guy that installed them said it would easy enough to add one more on. This was done about 4/5 years ago so don't know where he bought them from.

Ive bought an IP20 rated light - but am now thinking this might now be suitable?

Ive read they must be rated IP65...?

Problem is....I cant find many that are the same design as the ones already fitted.

Is IP20 rated okay for a shower? The light wont get splashed but obviously its the steam rising I'm a bit worried about.

If anyone could help me out with this...?

Cheers.....

If its in a shower it will get splashed sooner or later, and as you said there will be the steam.
So no, an IP20 rated light is NOT suitable for a shower.
IP55 or higher is good, but it depends how high the ceiling is, you may be ok with IP44
