Children just love to press buttons, especially if the button is illuminated. This simple trick shows how to use a small piece of acrylic with a 6mm hole drilled through it to protect the switch from little fingers. The appliance can still be switched on or off using a small hex key, or anything that is round and small enough to fit through the 6mm hole. A special key was made at the same time using a scrap piece of Perspex from some 4mm thick pink Perspex. Everbuild’s mammoth tape is used to secure the acrylic in position which gives an incredibly strong bond.
This can be used on most electrical appliances including-
-
Televisions
-
Printers
-
Washing machines
-
Tumble driers
-
Dishwashers
And a whole host of other electrical appliances.
