In this video I mix up some granolithic mortar using a mixer paddle, last year I mixed several batches of concrete the same way. This is a great way to mix concrete at home and is much easier than using a shovel.
The ratios for the concrete were as follows-
Concrete using ballast- 6 units of ballast and 1 unit of cement by volume (not weight)
Concrete using gravel- 4 units of gravel, 2 units of sharp sand and 1 unit of cement by volume.
Granolithic mortar – 4 units of grano dust to 1 unit of cement
Granolithic mortar (smooth) – 3 units of grano dust, 1 unit of sharp sand and 1 unit of cement.
