Restaurant dishes sent back to the kitchen

Post by Stoday »

I don't often send dishes back, but sometimes the cooking is so bad it has to go back.

Last week I ordered a plate of asparagus with hollandais, a poached egg and a little petit salé. The asparagus was badly overcooked so I sent it back.

The Maitre d' came over "Sorry etc - would you like an alternative dish?" No I wouldn't, I want my original dish cooked properly. Tell the head chef.

I got it cooked properly. It was worth making a fuss about. I got a free brandy with my coffee too. :-P

I always get Steak well done and if it bleeds when I cuit into it I will not think twice about sending it back. Not because I am fussy, but because I cannot eat it if there is blood in it :pukeleft:

rarely sent food back, but often send beer back
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I once sent a posh London pizza back as it had a clump of dodgy short, curly black hair on it! I was right off pizza for months.

I've sent food back because it's come out luke warm instead of hot.
Failure means you just didn't get it right yet!

The food at the Jury's hotel I stay at in Chelsea has to be the worse ever.

Small portions, cold plates you name it, I was forever sending it back.
