CD Burning...

Post by mr phone »

being the old git that I am - this has confused me.
A friend of mine gave me a DVD with loads of MP3 files of music I wanted.
The dvd loads and plays fine in my laptop.
I wanted to burn some particular files to a cd, so had a bash and after a few times was successful. However the cd plays in the house stereo but not the van???WHY?!?!?!? :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

You need to finalise the cd to play in any media.

Have no idea  mine asks me if I want to make it available to other devices, you cannot add any further data when it's finished.

We have several experts on the subject so lets see what they have to say.

If these are still in MP3 format it is very unlikely that the bog standard in car entertainment (ICE) CD Player can play them. If the unit is compatible with MP3 tracks, it will say it on the front to big up the fact.

ICE stuff is only now in the last year or so catching up with these formats.

the Finalising bit could be a factor, but 99% certain the above is the reason.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
