was talking to a chipie at work today....
and he told me that he taught himself through reading books.he said that he was just a general labourer for a building firm before he started reading and teaching himself.
do you think this is possible?

Certainly is, I am mostly self taught too. Reading and watching is a good provider then practice, practice. Always ask if unsure and learn by mistakes.
