more then an inference there
I agree to the fans, the drivers championship is key, but the drivers need a car to get in
Is it a Ferrari if it has a Ford Engine?, would Honda stay in if the Engine tender was won by Toyota - and vice-versa. Same goes for Renault and another maker of engine, BMW?, McLaren? (which is majority owned by Mercedes)
In the history of F1, you will find plenty of mainstream car makers supplying engines to independant teams (Williams-Honda, Tyrell-Ford, Bennetton-Renault, etc), but I don't think you will find a single volume car producer that has the chassis design and ANOTHER car makers engine.
Never heard of a Renault-Ford! BMW- Mercedes?
If it did happen, it would be the rise of the independant teams again, but not sure if F1 will stay ahead of GP2 as the top formula as things swung too far
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
