Dust Extractor dilema

Post by scubatt »

I'm in a bit of a dilema need some advice about what type/flow dust extractor I'd need. I have been looking at 2 models from Axminster, the wv100P at 195m3/hr or the more expensive twin motor version WV2P at 390 m3/hr.

I'm currently kitting out my new workshop (router table, disc sander, mortiser and bandsaw) and as I have been using a 'Henry' for extraction and moving it around between machines I'm looking to upgrade to a new extractor and share it using 63mm pipes and blast gates (from axminster) The workshop is used purely as a hobby.

Is the larger extractor an overkill for a hobby system or will the smaller version lose its 'suck' over a the piped systemn? Anyone got experience?
