Hi lads, I was looking at the posts on reviews for mitre saws but most relate to the more expensive models. I have a bit of work to do with a mitre saw. Floorboards, skirting boards veneered floors etc but really don't have much use for it after that.
Are the cheapo saws any use, anybody got any experience with them?
although I notice that there is a Makita MLS100 for sale on Direct Brand Tools for £65 which seems a lot cheaper than anywhere else
cheers

I was working away on a job about two years ago and discovered that my mitre saw wasn't in my van. I picked up a basic cheap one from B&Q and did 120 square metres of decking with handrails, spindles, steps etc. I've continued to carry it in the van and use it regularly and it's still going strong. If you're only doing a week's worth of work with it then a cheap one will make more economical sense than a professional one. I think mine cost me about £40.

cheers Phil, usually I find its false economy in buying a cheapo drill, screwdriver, hand tools as I have broken sooooo many in my time but the mitrre saw, can't see what else I would use it for.
Got my electric screwdriver nicked so ended up getting a real cheapo one, god its rubbish, 3 screws are a 10 hour recharge
