Those were the days when cars were driven by steam. I can remember a steam roller operating down our road in the 1940's.

Steam rollers were still on th go till way in to the late 60's!.......and maybe later!

The horseless carraige today's (taxi) local by- laws say that the driver is requested to keep a bale of straw in the boot of the car :scratch:

I suspect that the bale of hay for the horse is a VERY small one to obey the letter of the law.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

Very true Pipertom I had heard of that one it is still on the statute as is

Every man aged 16 or over must do one hours of archery practice every day.

We are legally allowed to p*ss on the wheels of our carts or cars or vans or lorries in public. BUT I think the Gestapo will nick you for a different law of indecent exposure.
