what's the rate

Post by devlin »

Hi all
I have tried tiling its a job for people who have patience and a certain ammount of artistic flair. none of the above apply to me, so my question is what should I expect to pay hourly for a good tiler or say a wall of 6 m3 metres nothing fancy no complex designs

£130-£150 a day roughly. By m2 depends on type of tile, pattern, prep, etc, but usually the bigger the tile, the more expensive it is to fit. For 6x6 inch tile, generally looking at £20-£25 per m2, for walls. For floors £28-£35 per m2.

6 square meters suggests that you are tiling from the base of a bath or shower. It is unlikely to take the tiler more than a half day, plus another hour to grout. A day's money in total. You will probably need to do the sealant yourself to save the cost of another visit.

Excuse my ignorance, but is it hard to find trades people on the Islands?
