Side of your laying trowel is the old trick

I managed to do a few like it, but its been a long time since i did any brickwork

I remember watching my father cut bricks like that - chop chop chop and its off in a nice straight line.

I've tried but must have been using the wonky cutting side of my trowel

I bought a 9" grinder for putting in a new kitchen doorway, it got halfway through but as i didnt want to cut in the dining room, i bolstered the rest out, still made much neater and faster.

Will come in handy for slabs too, but i will get a diamond disc for that.

i wouldnt recommend cutting all the way through a brick its a waste of a blade, cutting all th way through with a diamond blade will lessen its life whilst cutting part way and giving it a tap will greatly increase life of blade.
