Is the chuck opened? Occasioanly i have seen drills with holes down the shaft where a locking screw may normally be... bits get hammered straight into the hole and get jammed in.

Is it a keyed, or keyless chuck?

If its keyed, put the key in, and give it a sharp hit with a mallet... repeat on all 3 holes.

If its keyless, give the bit a few sharp taps with hammer/mallet, towards each of the jaws, then have a go. You can also try resting the chuck near the edge of a bench of similar, then use a few well placed blows with the palm of your hand to put some turning force on the chuck, in a sharp motion..

i tried the hitting with a hammer part and snapped the bit off, its keyless i tried giving it a few sharp taps and it stil stuck in there so im all out of ideas , i tried to take the body off it and all the cogs and gears fell out inside!!!

i've got a fair idea how to put that back as there isnt many parts to it.

but im a bit stuck on this chuck.

will they take it back in store if i explain that the bit just got stuck, i';ve only had it about 4 days.

If you've only had it a few days, put it back together and take it back.

Dont tell them you snapped the bit by hitting it though ;)

I had the same problem, couldn't put enought pressure on the button to turn the chuck, Ended up using a vice grips and cloth to hold the button pressed in while I turned the chuck.

Mine was a Black and decker cheapo one though
