creamy dpc hire,whos best /cheapest??

i put a cream based dpc in a frends house last year,he hired the dispenser gun and ceam from brandon hire but they dont appear(on their website) to do it anymore now i need it for my own house! would anybody know wheres best to hire it it from and which cream is best?

The damp proofing cream can now be injected using a normal silicone gun. You can get the injection cream via mail oder from here- http://www.twistfix.co.uk/2005_shop/pro ... goryID=169

I have seen this stuff for sale and it his British Board of Agrement approval but I am unsure if it works. I hope it does but am interested in more info and experiences because I don't have the confidence to recommend it at present.

Im sure its fine but i have not heard of that particular product.. you have to read the technical data and find the solid content percentage, more than .22% is acceptable. basically how much actual primary product is in with the liquid cream.

I've used the cream for over 4 years and find it much quicker and cleaner than fluid, I started using Dryzone but now use Platinum One Shot DPC cream as it does the same job and is much cheaper, you can buy from their website or ebay shop, it's a good product and has BBA cretificate.

There are many misconceptions and myths about damp-proofing creams, many caused by the different marketing strategies of the various dpc cream manufacturers.

The early dpc creams use a patented formula that includes a thickening agent to form a creamy damp proof paste. The thickening agent tends to inhibit full migration of the cream paste through water filled pores of walls that are damp. However manufacturer sponsored tests shows these cream pastes to work particularly well in dry walls that are subsequently subjected to wet conditions. An ideal choice for use as a preventative measure in drier walls.

The more modern dpc creams are thickened by an emulsification process to form a 100% active cream that migrates quicker and more fully into walls that are damp to line pores and counteract capilary action. An ideal reactive choice to remedy rising damp in walls.

Both types of cream are more reliable than the old high pressure dpc injection systems, and despite the 'my widget is better than your widget' arguments of the various manufacturers, the only accredited independent verification of a product being 'fit for purpose' lays in the cream having a British Board of Agrement Certificate

Why pay Screwfix or Toolstation £15 per tube when you can get a BBA certified product from Platinum Chemicals for £8.95!!!

Hi Lee, no I do dampproofing myself and used a few different suppliers and find Platinum to be the best to deal with at the right price, do you work for Screwfix?
