After being out for a few years (spinal surgery, they said I'd never walk again) and reverting to my desk trade as a chartered health and safety practitioner this last 5 years .... stay with me I'll get to the point
I was made redundant so decided to run some ads in teh local church periodical and lo and behold the phone has been ringing. Anyway, I have some beautiful tools and jigs but most of teh batteries (used to do site work as well thus 110v-cordless instead. Most were next best thing to useless so have been replacing steadily, oh by the way bought a hinge pro 75mm and 100mm this week, fantastic pieces of kit.
So needed a circular saw, jigsaw, impact drill hammer drill and still needing more. I have purchased teh Festool 55 circular saw, the Festool jiggysaw (D handle) and thus when I have worked them a bit I'd be glad to do some write-ups if anyone is interested with pictures. I'm tempted on teh slide chop saw at £950 or thereabouts but I have the TOTR Makita which I paid £500 for some years ago.
Sorry all, I waffled on, didn't mean to.

after using/owning a few festol items including the hover, kapex, plunge saw brought them back as they take to much power on site transformers, either you use your equipment or other people do. The festool rep came out to try and convince me to keep them but he even agreed when he tried and got my money back

Hmmm, methinks I'll pass on a range of circular saws ranging from £1500 to £2000 each.

I thought my boat had been pushed out when I bought some Veritas kit and Lie-nielsen planes. nah, I'll pass and stick with Festool thanks.

The Evolutions can cut metal and are much cheaper, but perhaps not to the same depth.Mike Jones wrote:Hmmm, methinks I'll pass on a range of circular saws ranging from £1500 to £2000 each.

To spend that much on a saw you must have more money than sense
