Hairline cracks in lead flashing?

I have damp in a bedroom, coming in from adjoining chimney stack. A builder has said that there are hairlilne cracks in the lead flashing. Is this likely / or a known problem with lead flashing. My limited knowledge and use of lead would make me think it is unlikely to get hairline cracks as it is so malleable.

If there are hairline cracks, can these be repaired (soldered?), rather than having to replace the whole of the flashing?

Can anyone advise please?

yep lead does that its shot not usualy worth repairing

Lead can dry out and crack, which is why it should be oiled every few years to prevent it. (patination oil)

Yes it can be repaired, but it' just isn't worth it as it will crack elsewhere.

Where is it leaking, the back gutter is the normal.
