van insurance

ive bought a van today that isnt taxed, ive insured it this morning at 10am, how long will it take for the dvla to pick up that its insured so i tax it on line?

As far as i am aware as soon as you get insurance on a vehical your details are looged on the insurance database, so it should be straight away aslong as you also have a current mot if the van is over 3yrs old. Just give it a go on the dvla site if its all in order your good to go, if not i am sure it will tell you whats wrong

:cussing::cussing: If the police are out doing spot checks thats a long time for you to get stopped becuase you dont show up on the database as being insured

it took 4 days for it to show up on the database to tax my motorhome online.

ive got to wait till the 20th for the insurance docs to come in the post if they arent affected by the postal strike then hope fully the log book will of come in that time as well!

the missus isnt happy as she spent two hours cleaning out the car, and now il have to use it for work!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Hi everyone

It should be automatic! the insuarnce database is really good now that the police have cracked down on unisured drivers. there is even a website you can just put your car reg in and it tells you if you are on the database

its www.askmid.com might be useful for future reference

I was told it can take up to 14 days to get on the data base.
