How to Remove Plastic Legs on Base Units in-situ??

Hello

There are grey plastic legs supporting these old kitchen base units (please see picture below). Is it possible for these legs to be moved or removed temporarily? I need to remove the old, dirty carpet tiles and replace them with new vinyl tiles. Is there any way I can unscrew these legs to do a proper tiling job without having to 'cut around'?

Would be very grateful for any advice/ tips forum members can give. Many thanks.

There should be four screws securing it into place.......well that depends on the leg and who fitted the kitchen lol.

First support the unit if it needs to be.

Second, adjust the leg so that it is as far from floor as possible. The very bottom part of leg will turn to adjust.

Third, try to pull the leg downwards but not too hard. If it doesn't come down then you need to locate the screws that hold the leg assembly to the underside of the cabinet. Short handled screwdriver, undo screws and pull leg out and away.

To re-fit, just do the reverse and check unit is level.

Agreed! Just moved in - this is a rented property - previous tentants had left it in a filthy condition, especially the kitchen. Had to take up all carpet tiles and throw them away before I could stop 'heaving' from bad smells of grease and old dog! (Am likely to ask for more kitchen DIY tips in near future.)
