Citroen Relay 1000 2.5 TD (2001) Brake Lights Not Working

Post by pemills »

Both of the brake lights have stopped working, I have checked the pedal switch which appears to be working OK so I was wondering if it could be the relay, trouble is I can't seem to locate it, anyone know where it can be found.

Sorry no idea, but sometimes the relays are in with the fuses.

Different manufacturers put the relays in different places, a lot seem to put them behind the footwell side panels.

I assume you have checked that both bulbs ore ok?

Does the van have a 3rd brake light ? is this working?

Have you checked the fuses?

How did you check the pedal switch ?

I don't think there will be a relay for the brake lights (there isn't normally on cars)

Cheers.

usually a fuse; there are common places for fuse boxes:

engine bay
driver footwell
behind glovebox

however some can be anywhere like the side of the dashboard as you open the door.

as its french make sure the bulbs are in correctly; ever seen a renault/cit/pug indicator come on when brakes applied? thats because of incorrect insertion of bulb!!!
