DeWalt was an acquisition back in the early 60's and I assume they left it seperate whereas Bosch Blue & Green are the same company

I buy mainly dewalt... not had any problems far...

My 18v DC998 gets used most days, and is going strong!

I have the 7 piece set, so again makes sense to stick with it, using the same batteries.

I did buy a new corded 9" disc cutter... does what I want it to do, no problems... Yes its Yellow!

Couldn't care less about the brand name as such.
You do generally find that most of the brands tools are better than their cheaper equivalents though.
However, just occasionaly there is a real gem.
One of my breakers is a Bergenhouser or some such name, cheapish, but bloody brilliant. 3years on and still going very strong.

I have very little brand loyalty and tend to buty the tool for the job based on specification, performance and on occassions price. That means I have:

Festo/Festool
Mafell
Kress
Bosch (blue)
Atlas-Copco (now branded Milwaukee)
Fein
deWalt (and some Elu)
Porter-Cable
Sioux (American)
Hilti
and Makita
Measure twice, cut once - except fingers!
