It may seem difficult at first! But everything is difficult at first.

That is an excellent deal, I am really tempted.

I already have loads of Dewalt 18v stuff including a drill.

I reckon I can buy that and sell my old drill with a ni-cad battery and charger on ebay and i'll almost get enough to pay for this new one with the LI-ON battery and charger :thumbright:

That is the battery that I looked at, which makes me believe that the drill, battery and charger above are all backwards compatible.

Someone at screwfix has reviewed the new batteries-

"i purchased four of the new dewalt 18v nano batteries. i have always used dewalt tools but wanted to change to the new lithium batteries that makita were doing then i found that dewalt were doing them, also dewalts new batteries still fit the old tools unlike makitas.but i wished i had saved my money and switched to makita The dewalt batteries are useless they dont last half as long as the old batteries and as soon as you hit anything hard they just stop and have to be recharged. DONT BUY THESE BATTERIES STICK TO THE OLD ONES"

I might not bother now

i think you have to be fair li-ions have circuitry to prevent overloading the battery/drill
so where as before with nicads you could load up the battery and drill way past there desighned capacity now they are protected
i think you have to treat them differently

they may of course be carp i will tell you on wednesday when mine arrives lol :thumbright: :thumbright:
