Hi technical people - need some help.
One of my computers (not this one) recently got a bug, and I had to run the computer in safe mode to get rid of it. Now every time it starts up, it automatically goes into safe mode (which doesn´t bother me because there is no loud music playing all evening), but it is something I ought to get sorted out.
I have had a look around some of the online help sites and they give multiple answers (some of which are frankly beyond my comprehension). Anybody know of a quick fix?
Thanks,
James

Re: Windows XP in Safe Mode?
James,
Check the boot ini. file to see if it is set to boot in safemode.
This will explain how to check and sort out thye boot ini file in the configuration window.
It will want to reboot, just let it, then a warning message appears, just tick the small box next to 'Don't inform me again' or something like that, and click OK.
If you have any problems, post back.

Re: Windows XP in Safe Mode?
So, it´s nearly 1.00am. lost patience with this bl dy computer and going to get somebody in who knows a bit more than I about these technical things. I looked at the boot.ini but it was unchecked. Tried fooling the computer by checking it and then un-checking it, but it was no good.
Seen some other stuff on the web that might be of use, but its working (except for sound, scanner and printer) so reckon I should leave well alone!
Thanks anyway Dave
