If you can give some indication of where they were before I might be able to help

Or post a photo if you can?

lighting circuits have

earth - green/yellow

live - red or brown these days

neutral - black or blue

and

switched live - supposed to be red - brown.

However the colours are often mixed up due to the lack of cores. You will need to connect the

switched live - to the brown of the fitting

neutral to the blue of the fitting

earth to an earth point if provided or in a connector block if not

and connect any permanent lives together in a connector.

can you post a picture of what you have

pls note I'm not a spark but have fitted countless lights.

Connect the earth to the rest of them.

The red wire could be a feed for either the switch or another light!

Does the switch turn the light on and off ok?

Are there any other lights in the house not working?

Everything else works in the house, The new light fitting only came with a 2 gang block aaand so have no where to put these remaining 2 wires? and yes the two switches that use this light both work fine??
