Spreader frame

Post by Hitch »

Spreader frame, for lifting timber buildings.

The spreader frame is required to prevent chains or strops from damaging the building.
Theres another set of wires which attach to the lifting brackets and the under side of the frame.

Nice bit of fabrication work there Hitch :thumbright:

Strange though, that the SWL is 4.6 Tons, I thought they would of rounded it up to the highest full number

The 4.6 i think is the capacity of the 5ton lifting wires, minus the weight of the frame itself and the secondary wires.... id guess.
The wires are permanently fixed to the frame.

The brackets to the right of the frame fit into tubes in the base of the buildings, then a set of wires drop straight between them and the under side of the frame.
Saves the sides and roof getting damaged if normall strops were used.
