Hi everybody,
I have been planning to use 30 by 30 cm slate stone tiles on my front path. Can somebody please provide me with a idiots guide on such a project.
There is already some concrete slabs on the path. I was planning to take them off and do a layer of concrete on top of the hardcore that is already there and then lay the slate on the concrete once it dries.
Do I use cement or stone adhesive to lay the slate on concrete. Do I leave a 4 mm gap between the stones or leave no gap? If I leave a gap do i use grout or cement to fill the gap. Not sure if i can use grout outside.
Please help!!!

Re: Slate on front path
Hi Breeze,
In the past, the guys have used external adhesive for slate, minimal gaps, then sealed, and then external grout for the gaps!
