Not to sure if a rogue or being resourceful
This is where you can post pictures of extremely poor workmanship, whether it is done by a dodgy tradesman or by an incompetent DIY'er. Instructions on how to post pictures can be found in here.

Not to sure if a rogue or being resourceful

Hiya Chaps (and the odd two bumper)
As the title suggests, i'm going to call this one Resourceful rather than rougue, lol, as this property was built around the late 30's when Mr Churchil needed railings, gates & any spare metal he could get his hands on as part of the war effort, it worked anyway cos I don't have to type this in German!
We did a full top to (under) bottom refurb & part of it was "Chris, can you look at the big crack across the kitchen floor?"
This is what we found as part of the conc to timber swap, see pic:

Well at least they could not make munitions from their bed
It's a shame that they removed everyone's railings for the war effort, but never replaced them all when the war was won!

It's even more of a shame that most of it wasn't suitable to be used
Still we won
Only to give it away instead

Make sure you have a good route around before you fill it in, you don't want to bury any treasure

But the powers-that-be didn't realise that railings were made from the cheapest metal at the time, so much of it was thrown into the sea after the war.ultimatehandyman wrote:Well at least they could not make munitions from their bed

I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.
