Sealing; Tiling over new plaster

Post by FunkyMunkey »

Hi guys,

First post here, and hopefully it'll be a successful one!

I'm going to start tiling my bathroom soon, but unfortunately I sealed the walls with PVA before I read the tips on here. Is there anything I can do remedy this now?

Also, I'm going to reskim one of the walls in the bathroom... how long should I wait before tiling this wall?

Thanks in advance!

Hi funkymonkey,

Don't worry about this too much!

It will be fine as long as the tiled areas are not in really wet areas such as shower enclosures.

Before I knew better I pva'd before tiling in a bathroom and the tiles are still stuck today, even in the shower area.

In extreme cases though they could possibly fall off and so it is best not to pva first as a precaution!
