Wickes Ready Mixed Patching Plaster

Post by london77 »

Hi

http://www.wickes.co.uk/Ready-Mixed-Pat ... nvt/221666

Bought a tub to try to skim over some horrors next to a door frame (about 20cm by 180cm strip). I'm no craftsman and the result is pretty ropey, has anyone used this stuff? It's got quite a gritty consistency... can I expect, with another coat, to get it smooth enough to paint?

Readymixed plaster is absolute rubbish. It shouldn't be on sale in my opinion.

Either get some thistle finishing plaster and skim it, or use easifill and then sand and fill until you are happy.

:( bah

I suppose I wanted to avoid buying a big bag of stuff seeing as it's such a small area... and I'm no plasterer...!
