Hi,
I am in the process of refurbishing my house and have recently laid slate tiles in the kitchen. The slate tiles have been down for about 3 weeks now and need to be grouted and sealed. I have been reading online and there is a lot of conflicting information for which I need some help. Before I do anything I need to brush out and remove any excess muck from the floor area. Once this is done do I grout the floor or seal the floor first? It would make more sense to me if I grouted the floor first as the sealer would then seal the grout as well as the slate tiles. However some websites tell you to do it the other way round. HELP!!!
What sealer would you recommend I use in order to bring out the colour of the slate tiles?
Thanks in advance
Aled

Re: Grouting and Sealing Slate Tiles
Wash floor and leave to dry. Seal the slate first then grout. Then seal again, at least 2 coats maybe 3 as some slate is very porous. I use LTP, see LTP Online. I prefer slate with a shiny finish.
