cutting tiles

Hi i need to cut some ceramic tiles to fit round a bowed fronted shower tray what is the best way to cut the tiles.

Best way is with a wet cutter, or angle grinder, for corner cuts and manual for straight cuts

Clearly mark the curve onto the tile. Then score the curve using your manual cutter, it helps if you place a tile (glazed side down) onto your cutter bed, place the tile you want to score on top of this and then score your tile whilst moving your tile to follow the curve. The glazed tile against the cutter bed will help the tile slide around to follow the curve.

Then use your wet cutter to cut little fingers up against the curve, then snap the finger off and neaten the curve up with your tile nippers and/or sanding stone

By the way, gentle curves can actually be snapped using a manual cutter, score and snap in the normal way, you'd be suprised how well it works

That is a very neat trick
