ok they are putting there line rental up by around £1.50 a month but if you pay the whole line rental up front for the year you will get around 30% off [10% increase plus 20% reduction] £51 leaving £114 to pay
now to me its a good deal but a very clever way to tie you in
to be honest i am happy with this as i will be staying put
i suspect the actual savings will be around half because if you threaten to leave and get put through to retentions you will probably get the same reductions without the tie in
but as i say i am happy as it works fine for me as i wish to stay put lol

Re: talk talk up front line rental savings are 30%
I think Talk Talk are trying to tie people in as BT are targeting Talk Talk people, in my are at least by offering a deal which is comparable to Talk Talks. Personally speaking, I moved to Talk Talk not that long ago but been pleasantly pleased with the service (phone and broadband), saved me approx £90 per month so I am quite happy to be loyal to them for the time being.
PS. there is the concern that they are trying to get extra money in up front because they are having financial problems, hope not.
Cheers, John

Re: talk talk up front line rental savings are 30%
We were forced to move to Talk Talk when they bought out Ticali...service went downhill immediately and has remained poor ever since, their customer service is dreadful and the internet is flaky these days :(
Only stay because they're the cheap, we have TV, phone and internet with them.
I really hope it's not going to get worse if the rumour above is true!

when any "service" company goes to the wall the new company tends to take on as is with present contracts honoured
now i wouldnt expect advance payments to count but they are on the account so difficult to egnore

we are all ------------------still learning

But then, when something goes wrong, you have to deal with their awful, awful customer service.
I know most large companies have pretty shoddy customer service but Talk Talk is probably deserving of the ultimate wooden spoon award.
