Centralise sink over unit and dishwasher

Post by jimbo22 »

Hi all, Been lurking on here for a good while but it is my first time posting.

I have been fitting the kitchen in a house i am refurbing and the sink and dishwasher sit centralised in a deep bay window.

What i would like is a sink, Stainless steel and fairly cheap preferably, that will sit centralised over the two units. Obviously this means the drainer needs to be the same size as the sink, which is not too difficult, but all the ones i have looked at have the tap mounted centrally as well, which would foul on the side of the sink unit, and if i cut this away will be in the way of the dishwasher.

Any suggestions? Is my best bet to cut away the side of the carcase and lower the dishwasher to allow as much space as possible for the tap? Or is it in fact possible to get a sink that i can centralise and have the tap on the right hand side of the sink with the drainer on the left.

Cheers for any help, James

It is a 600mm sink unit and then 600 dishwasher.

Tops are solid beech (27mm) and the alcove is 1410 wide.

Hi, could'nt sleep and browsing, what a life! ha

you don't really want to drop your dishwasher, doors will be out of line. if you get a 1.5 bowl sink the 1.5 will fit in the 600 base and the drainer will fit over the dishwasher, the tap and fittings will fit in the 600mm base average sink is 1000mm leaving good space both sides or drop a single bowl in, franke do a 1.5 think its opera fits 600 base overall about 1160mm? check it out looks good fitted a few.

just a thought, we fit most like that.
