martin lewis money saving expert says switch to fixed energy

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilit ... lectricity

i am on scottish power on line energy saver 17 about half term to go it wasn't the best price but with an £80 cash back it was around£30 in pocket
with a £60 early leaving fee i assumed that was that but checked the fixed scottish power tariff
to my surprise it was slightly cheaper 1.2p on the higher units[18.7-19.9p]normal units 0.68 [10.8-10.9]
gas works out about the same on both tariffs

phoned up to check i can swap without penalty he did it there and then with no lock in :thumbright:

so it looks like i am saving money and more importantly there is no early termination fee

so in summery the prices are going up by around 9%[rumoured] i am paying around 1p a kw less overall so a combined possible 14% saving and i have lost the lock in   result

and i am an absolute tart when it comes to these things so it shows you how complicated these things are

They make it hard on purpose, so hard that each comparison site gives a different answer and you have to try a few to get the real result (or at least this was the situation when I last changed).

Just got a note from my supplier saying I'll be coming off the cheap deal in 2 months time - seemingly hoping I'll forget to switch in 2 months or go early and get clobbered for leaving early. Hey ho - they won't get me this time.
