DW744XP-GB wiring diagram

Hi all, I bought a 2nd hand dewalt dw744xp soft start brushless table saw that I knew was faulty. I took off the top of the motor and found loads of sawdust packed in to the soft start controller. Cleaned out the sawdust and found a 20amp fuse had blown. Soldered fuse wire across the old fuse to see if it would go but just blew the 13amp plug fuse. Now wondering if the previous owner has had a play with the wiring so I need a wiring diagram or photo of the controller to show me what is supposed to go where. Would be grateful for any assistance as I really need to get the saw up and running now.

sounds to me like the motor has seized or jammed, which is blowing the fuse in the machine so the previous owner put in a higher fuse to get the motor going but it obviously didnt work.

'Soft-start' and 'brushless' means a controlling circuit (electronics) that are probably damaged - the blown fuse(s) indicates a switching device (MOSFET) being shorted. Unless you're familiar with electronics you're on a hiding to nothing.

Thanks for your replies, have to source a new motor then, problem is; saw is obsolete - can't get parts !

also worth going to your local dewalt repair center and asking for an estimate as they may be able to pinpoint the problem rather than trying the trial and error method

I doubt you will ever find out what smokeyblokie did, if you look at his post count, he only made 4 posts over a year ago and he has never been back since.

If you haven't, I would try the links big-all gave, (I note one link is no longer valid) but as said by smokeyblokie at the time, the saw was obsolete then and you can't get parts.
If its the electronics that have failed, you may be able to repair it, but if you could do it, you would not be asking on here.
