That would be in my house. The amount of cats around here (I've moaned about this more times than I can remember) LOVE my garden. Left the secluded back garden door open once and walked into the kitchen and found a cat sat on the cold floor restings

My front garden is a giant sh*t box for every cat in a 10 mile radius.

Problem would be solved if you got some cats of you own

I have 10*10 sand pit in my garden space and all walls of it made up of oak wood but I afraid when rainy season starts so anyone tell me how to protect oak wood from decomposing due to rain water? Thanks in advance!

whilst being in touch with damp sand and earth will shorten the life off the oak it is likely who ever is playing in the pit will be in employment or further education before the timbers need replacing

I like things like this - massively over-engineered, looks great in my opinion.
But talking of safety, I really think you should build a steel roof over the sandpit, in case the child gets hit by a meteorite whilst playing...

Good point...that's why the Dinosaurs died out...they built a brilliant sand pit...and then forgot to protect themselves from passing Meteor showers...

on the overlap assuming those fixings are silly money and most people will be on a lower powered drill
you could go for 2 diagonally opposite fixings in the square overlap from above on the corners with perhaps 3 or 4 fixings along the overlap from above between the corners

The ground is soaking wet in that area when it rains, so I did not want to use weed control fabric or the sand would have soaked up the water.

No water can get in from the top because of the tarpaulin. I have now made a wooden cover for it, just waiting for the wheels (which should be here tomorrow). The cover will then wheel off to the side.

The screws were about £2 each for the 280mm long ones and £4 each for the 400mm ones

You should mount a couple of servos and a small motor on the cover so you can hit a button in the kitchen and cover it up without having to dash outside and get wet.

Or better still, connect a humidity sensor and temperature gauge up to the servos so it closes automatically when it rains, and opens up when the temperature is hot enough to make sure the sand stays nice and dry.

Of course, if you're going to have the tarp cover opening and closing all the time when you're not around, you should mount a retractable mesh cover connected up to a power energizer to keep the cats off it when it's open for drying.

As it happens I have designed the lid so that it can be opened closed using a garage door opener

I'm now watching a couple on ebay, once I get one I'll install it, then finish building the deck over the top. Once it's completed we should be able to open/close the lid at the push of a button

Id have put a 6x6 x 8ft post in each corner with a cedar tiled roof over.

Plus build a bar in the corner.
