yesterday morning, I was repairing a boiler. It was meant to be an annual service but when I turned up, I found out the guage was down to Zero. I also noticed (on cleaning the TF1 filter) that there was sludge in the system. So I decided to flush it and all that. Now I needed to dose system with Inhibitant. I normally carry quite a few bottles of Fernox, Sentinel No Nonsense (for the cheap customers) and recently, Mac something (a new product by McNaclean). But I rummaged through the van and nothing turned up. Probably because I took loads of stuff out when the van went in for its annual service.

So I drove down to my local Plumbase to buy one. Parked in the car park and went in. A few minutes later, lorry driver comes in and informs me that someone has crashed into my van. I went out to see a ''lady'' standing by may van. On inspection, I couldn't believe what I was seeing

Apart from my van, there was only one other van there and the lorry driver wanting to make a delivery. Loads of parking spaces. So why did she decide to only park next to my van? What is even more annoying is that she had not come there to shop. She had 'parked' so she could deliver boxes round the corner?

How do you crash into a parked car when there is plenty of parking all over the place

She gave me her phone number. Unbeknown to her, I immediately rang it and no joy. She then told me she knows someone round the corner who can sort it out for me. So I asked for her address. She responded by telling me she is homeless?

That sent me into overdrive

Then she got into her car and started reversing to drive away? I encouraged her to park the car and give me her address. She refused and continued to reverse. So I reached into the car got hold of the keys switched it off and put the keys in my pocket.

She dialled 999 and after a few minutes beckoned to me saying 'they' wanted to speak to me on the phone? I told her I couldn't care less.

You arn't kidding - stupid woman strikes again. Mine is between 250 and 400 in repairs from two quotes today.

Plumbase car park is likely to be private property, you may be on a sticky wicket there unless you can get her to pay for any repairs direct.

Assuming she's insured, I doubt her insurance company will pay out.

Car park accessed by the public so no problem with insurance.
